The Uniting Church is one of the largest non-governmental not-for-profit organisations in Australia. The Synod of Victoria and Tasmania is one of the largest in the organisation. It includes more than 2,000 properties, 600 congregations, 32 UnitingCare support agencies, 13 schools and a range of community outreach and social justice initiatives.
From this the Synod Communications and Media Services (CoMS) unit engages in a range of proactive and reactive communications activities across a range of mediums. This includes media, publication, training and advisory management and services to and for internal and external audiences. The News and Media section elaborates on this work.
The Communications and Media Services Department (CoMS) is responsible for all printed material published by the Synod of Victoria and Tasmania, as well as maintaining its online presence through the official website and social media promotion.
In the tab above you will find links to our official magazine Crosslight and social media channels.
CoMS utilises these channels of communication to represent the views and opinions of congregation members, as well as presenting to the public information on our faith and its role in today's world.
